Both are HAILONG quality, both fit the same mounting pattern. But 52V gives you measurably more performance. Is it worth the premium?
HAILONG makes both 48V and 52V versions of their popular Hailong-series battery packs. Both use the same form factor, both fit the same mounting brackets, and both work with most BAFANG motors. The question is whether the 52V version's extra performance justifies its $30-50 price premium.
This guide breaks down the actual performance difference and helps you choose the right voltage for your build.

The Verdict
The 52V HAILONG gives you about 8% more top speed, 8% more peak torque, and 8% more Wh capacity for a $30-50 premium. For BAFANG BBS02/BBSHD builds, the 52V is worth it โ the performance gain is noticeable, especially on hills, and the reduced thermal cutoff is meaningful for hot-weather or cargo use.
However, 52V is NOT compatible with Tongsheng TSDZ2 or TSDZ8 motors (their controllers are designed for 48V only). It's also not compatible with most BAFANG hub motor kits (which are voltage-specific). Check your motor's compatibility before buying.
Choose 48V if you: (1) have a Tongsheng TSDZ2/TSDZ8 motor, (2) have a BAFANG hub kit (most are 48V-only), (3) want the largest selection of battery capacities, or (4) want to save $30-50.
Choose 52V if you: (1) have a BAFANG BBS02 or BBSHD, (2) face real hills where the extra torque matters, (3) want maximum performance from your BAFANG mid-drive, or (4) ride in hot conditions where the reduced thermal cutoff helps.
For most BAFANG mid-drive builds, 52V is the better choice. The 8% performance gain is real and the $30-50 premium is justified over the 3-5 year life of the battery.
